Thanks
You have a HOM for each character..and only those characters titles and accomplishments go into it.

Also minipets are customized to the character that puts them in the HoM so if your ranger as a rare panda...and u put it in your HoM for the ranger...it will be customized to that ranger like weapons and armor. (no other characters can ever use it)

I can pass it using my ACCOUNT STORAGE, that is shared among ALL my characters. If storage can be account wide, i don't see why HoM can be account wide, and as a result allowing GW2 characters to share things like GW1 chars do.
What does having a MINI-PET unlocked multiple times have to do with PLAYING your CHARACTER?

If HoM was account or character specific DOESNT MATTER.

Dont you guys understand that? What matters is how it functionally
behaves in GW2.

These are the questions we need to ask because THAT is what dictates HOW we play. The manifestation of HoM is irrelevant!

Very true about the last part. We don't know WHAT it'll do in GW2, it's the most vital part.

Can I just be maybe the first person to say two things.

1) I agree happily with the character-based HOM. This is not a surprise to me and meets my expectations. I expect to have multiple characters in GW2 and I expect each one to take 'lineage' from a GW1 equivalent. I am not disappointed by this aspect of the HOM. I do not think it should be account-based.

2) Come on guys, this is hardly new is it. I was one of the people complaining many moons ago that KOABD, PKM and IVI pushed us down a single-character rather than multi-character route. It's been this way for some time. I did call for things like Treasure Hunter to be account-based (as opening even 1000 chests is insane grind) but this was ignored. We've been in a character-based world for many months now. Why anyone should be surprised at HOM being character-based is beyond me.

I will make GW2 characters with the same names as my GW1 characters, and I expect each to inherit the character-based and account-based achievements of their 'ancestor'.

For me, an account-based HOM would reduce the individualisation I have built around each of my main toons.

And.... I don't just play one character either. I have one where I'm going for Legendary Vanquisher, another where I'm trying to max Wisdom, another where I already have Legendary Suvivor and nearly Legendary Skill Hunter.

I'm happy to play multiple characters and strive for each one to have some decent Legendary title to define them as an individual. If this was all mushed together and merged into an account-level summary this would really disappoint me. We should be pleased that A-Net is giving us character-level granularity like this.

Having said this of course....the 'lobe' idea sounds pretty decent. The example of the 'guided tour' with loads of character switching is pretty spot on.

I am a PvE player not PVP, i do PVP but after i got to my lvl 3 mighty hero i stop, cause all i needed was the, popup animals thing.

Anet has always been favor pvp than pve. I mean rare stuff drops from chest, and people make ton of cash of it. if u just win one, and one rare item drops, u can become rich and famous. I have only win twice in HOH. and a crystalline drops, req 13, that can get you atleast 50-100 ectos, inscrip.

The HOM is really dissappoting
1. CAnt display all the process u make.
EX. all Elite skill cap, All protector title, Legendary carto. ETC.
2. One thing that upset with me was, mini pet. My mini mallyx now can only be use on my war, cant be use any other character.
3. Showing armor is very dissapoiting.--Why dont they jsut show a blank face statue and put your armor up there. or a picture of your amor instead of random armor up there. My wars has FOW and it show rit and assain up there. ( FIXED anet)- Who ever create this thing in the HOM amor stuff ( BAKA).
4. The rank have to be high to display-( gay) why cant Anet just create a system where the HOM automatic up date your title. display mighty hero lvl3 at HOM when you reach lvl 4, it update automaticly.
5. They should create a trophy- Like u are legendary guardian- lengendary cartographer- Lendary elite cap.

ANET FIX IT PLZ. WE ARE PVE player not PVP.

more peopleS are PVE PLAYER than PVP.

My spelling/grammar kinda suxky. You guy dont have to listen to what i said. This is my opinion.

I wouldn't worry, new players have birthdays every day so pets will continuously be produced for your trading needs. Mallyx can always be found via coffers and if you're worried about the limited minipets rewarded for tournaments/contests, then you should have entered and won one/saved enough by now to buy one.

Simple.

I really think that people are just ticked that they cant exhibit EVERYTHING theyve done across ALL their characters in ONE HoM, as well as the idea of LOCKING their mini-pets to one character.

I understand this disappointment completely.

HOWEVER, its not a valid reason to change anything, since that is functionally a seperate entity from how inheritance behave, which is the REAL purpose of HoM, which we have very little info about.

Showing off is seperate from Inheriting/Unlocking.

That's not a massive issure. Most 15k sets cost around 80-90k which can be farmed in a matter of days if you know what you're doing/have the time.

If you don't have enough time to play, then either put more aside or don't complain...

Once again: if you want the reward, put in the effort!

Those are exactly my thoughts. I don't care if my entire ACCOUNT can't even get me a 2-3 damage sword in GW2. I just don't want to have to go around changing characters to say "Here's my assassin with Survivor! Give me a minute and I'll show you my monk with all protector titles, the armour of my warrior, my elementalist with sweet tooth and drunkard... NO! DON'T LEAVE! I HAVE ANOTHER 8 CHARACTERS TO GO!"

Haha!

That kinda hits the nail on the head for me too. I couldn't really give a hoot about zomg teh minipets or suchlike; instead much like having ten bloody sets of heroes across each of my characters (such a nightmare trying to keep track of who has what, lol), I'm really disappointed at the prospect of having 10 half-empty HoMs as well.

It just seemed to make sense to me that all my achievements would be in one place.

Sadly I don't farm and most of my moneys go to skills and signet of captures.

Hells its time to decide planing on the armor of my 6 PvE cahrs.

Its just a physical manifestation of your "H" button really.

What i care most about is how it works with GW2.

Same here.

The lack of PVE titles in there has left me disinclined to bother to get past PKM, which I've nearly hit anyway. Other than that I can live with the rest of it.

I just don't get it. I figured the HoM would immortalise my main GW1 character, so her "descendants" in GW2 could at least SEE her, and the items/titles she achieved. Some of the achievements or whatever might confer some benefits, but those that don't... well I thought they would at least be VISIBLE.

But it seems that is not the case. I don't see anywhere where my ACTUAL character appears in there, and it all seems so "impersonal". It's just a broom cupboard full of "stuff"... stuff that really, could belong to anybody (if you see what I mean).

Why can't we take snapshots of our characters, with dyed/mixed/non-prestige armour, our favourite weapon, and a list of all titles achieved (including non-maxed)? If they don't confer any benefits, that's fine - I just want to SEE them in GW2.

Monument of
Fellowship: Crap, why can I only display Heroes when they have an other armor than the standard armor?
Devotion: Crap, make minipets Account-Customized, otherwise I will NEVER put ANY Minipet on this Monument
Honour: Wtf? Only PvP-Titles, and this so high? Did you completely got mad?
Valour: The only Monument that I dont have anything to complain about.
Resilience: Why the hell cant I see my Char there?

Just my 2 Cents, hope A-Net reads it.

I couldn't get that one to do anything, and both my ele's Jin and Dunkoro are wearing Elite Sunspear.

The only reason I'd want a monument of Koss is so I could kick it repeatedly.

Sum it up. HoM: one of the best ideas ever in GW, with one of the worst implementations ever. At least it's what it's looking like so far.

OK, I'm a bit confused since I haven't really been following this whole GW:EN/HoM/GW2 thing very closely, so maybe someone can clarify this for me.

Is creating a HoM REQUIRED for playing through the GW:EN PvE or is it an OPTION for those intending to purchase GW2?

If it's optional then I guess I'm safe since, at least from what I've read about it at this point, GW2 doesn't interest me in the least.

If it's required to play thru GW:EN PvE, then I guess I'm screwed since I have lots of chars (and, hence, lots of heroes) that I trade weapons between, weapons that I'd prefer not to be "customized" for a single char obviously. And if that's the case, I'll take my 2 (unopened) pre-order packs back to EB Games for a refund.
